Multiple previous additions to the house at Ferry Rd. made this a challenging design and build.  The homeowners wanted to keep the first floor in tact, with all it's beach cottage charm.  So the full second floor renovation had to rely on existing wall locations as load paths for the new structure.  New footings and beams were added in the basement to bring the whole house up to current engineering standards.  The result is a structurally sound, energy efficient house that maintains the look and feel of the original, and is ready to host family gatherings for another 100 years.
