CYRUS BEASLEY
BIO
Thank you for your interest in Beasley Woodworks Design-Build. I have been a professional carpenter for the past 20 years, project manager for the past 17 years, general contractor for the past 14 years, and a designer for the past 8 years. I have been fortunate to draw from a wide range of experiences leading up to creating Beasley Woodworks Design-Build.
After graduating from Emory University with a B.S. in Biology. I moved to Cambridge MA, and worked in the pharmaceutical industry, doing cancer therapy drug discovery in a molecular biology lab. I then moved to Rhode Island and built elite level racing boats for the sport of rowing at Resolute Racing Shells. One of my boats hung in the Smithsonian Museum for a while. From there, I moved on to building custom homes, in 2002, for Sweenor Builders in Wakefield, RI. Eventually, I was able to find my own niche, and created Beasley Woodworks in 2008. Moving on to design was a natural progression towards more creative freedom and better control over the finished product.
I grew up in Newburyport MA, and the architecture and geography of that town has had a profound effect on my life and work. I have been sailing, surfing, diving, biking, hiking and skiing all my life. I was blessed with the opportunity to compete at the 1996 Olympics as a rower, finishing 10th in the Men’s Single. I now live in Charlestown RI with my wife Julia and three children. My goal is to leave the world a little better than I found it.
